About Me

My name is Janet Ingber and I’m a Music Therapist with more than 30 years experience. I am board certified (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapists and am licensed by New York State as a Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT).  I have a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from New York University and am a NY State certified Special Education Teacher.

Since 1988 I have been the music therapist at Queens Centers for Progress (formerly United Cerebral Palsy of Queens), working with adults and children who have developmental disabilities.  I created the music therapy programs at the agency’s Adult Day Program in Bellerose and at QCP’s Children’s Center.

I’ve had articles published in Music Therapy Perspectives, a journal from the American Music Therapy Association.  I also write freelance for AccessWorld, an online magazine from the American Foundation for the Blind.  The magazine focuses on technology and people who have visual impairments.
